Adjustments and Manipulation

Spinal Adjustments & Manipulation

Adjsutment vs. Manipulation is an ongoing debate. It is my personal 37 years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer, professional athlete and Chiropractor which draws a distinct difference, please allow me to explain. An adjustment in my profession first requires an accurate diagnosis of exact subluxations of every possible angle of every vertebrae. This is achieved through my technique, by a leg reflex from the patient upon a gentle challenging touch by the doctor to access the exact angles of nerve interference in any area of the body. After a very gentle dynamic thrust to correct the subluxation, a post objective test is perfomed to see if the nerve interference has been removed.

When I was working in physical therapy clinics and head trainer for a college, manipulation was that industries' termonology. Manipulation by definition, is the stretching of the full length of a particular muscle or muscle group, especially in rotation "WITHOUT" a dynamic impulse. However an adjustment is only complete when there is post objective proof that after an intentional light force thurst is applied, then and only at that time, the nerve interference has been removed. Consequently the body now has the ability to approach homeostasis, also known as "internal balance".
